The DS1307 is a real-time clock (RTC) module that provides a way to keep track of the current date and time. It contains a clock and calendar, and can be used to measure time intervals, or to provide a time reference for other systems. The module uses an I2C interface to communicate with other devices, and can be easily connected to a microcontroller or other type of controller. The clock accuracy is typically around +/- 2 minutes per year, and the module can operate for several years on a single battery backup.
