Arduino Nano IO Expansion Board

The Arduino Nano IO Expansion Board is a convenient and versatile shield designed to expand the input/output capabilities of the Arduino Nano. It provides easy access to all the Nano's pins through female headers, making it simple to connect sensors, actuators, and other external devices.

With this IO expansion shield, the Arduino Nano can be powered via a power adapter. There is a DC Barrel jack on the board to accommodate a standard 2.1mm DC jack. Additionally, a built-in reserve polarity protection diode and the capacitor are placed to smoothen the ripple from the adapter. It also comes with an independent 3.3V voltage regulator that will be able to provide extra current (Max:500mA) to complement the 3.3V output from the Arduino Nano

Overall, the Arduino Nano Expansion Board is a handy tool for expanding the capabilities of your Arduino Nano, allowing you to easily connect and control various sensors, actuators, and other components in your projects. Its compatibility with Arduino Uno shields adds to its usefulness and flexibility.

Key features of the Arduino Nano Expansion Board:

  • 14 I/O Pins: These pins are arranged in a servo-type configuration and have dedicated GND, power, and signal connections for each pin. This arrangement simplifies the connection to servos and other components.

  • 8 Analog Pins: The shield offers 8 analog input pins with dedicated power output and GND connections, making it easy to interface with analog sensors.

  • 6 PWM Pins: The shield includes 6 Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pins, allowing you to control devices such as motors and LED brightness.

  • Servo Power Input: The shield provides a separate power input specifically for servo motors.

  • I2C Expansion Pin: It includes a pin for expanding the Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) communication protocol, enabling easy connection to I2C devices.

  • AREF Output: The shield features an AREF output, which allows you to access the Analog Reference voltage for more precise analog measurements.

  • 3.3V Output: The shield provides a 3.3V output, which can be useful when working with devices that require this specific voltage level.

  • Arduino Uno Form Factor: The shield follows the Arduino Uno form factor, allowing you to use Arduino Uno shields with your Arduino Nano if needed. This adds even more versatility to your projects.

  • Compact Size: The dimensions of the shield are approximately 6cm x 5.3cm x 1.3cm, making it a compact and space-saving expansion option.
